FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there ground transportation available from surrounding municipalities (Puerto Vallarta, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Bucerias, etc.)

Yes, we will provide a free shuttle bus leaving Puerto Vallarta at 12:00 and 2:00 pm on both festival days. The bus will stop at places along the way and return at 11:00 pm and 1:30 am at the festival’s conclusion.

What do the General Admission and VIP tickets include?

A General Admission ticket grants you access to the full festival grounds, including both stages, except for the VIP area/restaurant under the palapa. By purchasing a VIP ticket, you will enjoy table seating under the palapa, access to the main bar and restaurant (amazing food, by the way), as well as the freedom to move about the festival and catch all the music.

Are attendees allowed to bring lawn/beach chairs into the festival?

Yes, however we ask that you please be respectful of other peoples’ space and keep a close eye on your chairs. The festival will not be held responsible for missing chairs (or other items for that matter)

Does the festival provide parking facilities for guests?

Yes, we plan to reserve the baseball field at the corner of Calle Playa Azul and Manuel Rodriguez Sanchez for guests to park their vehicles. However, please keep in mind that parking is limited in Sayulita, and we encourage guests to either take the shuttle bus from Puerto Vallarta, stopping in towns along the way, or plan on staying in Sayulita for the weekend and either walking or renting a golf cart to get around.

Are dogs or other pets allowed inside the festival grounds?

No. While Frente al Punto is known as a pet-friendly venue, for this event we ask that attendees leave their furry friends at home. The presence of many dogs and people, including young children, in a confined space just seems like a recipe for disaster and we want to avoid anyone getting hurt. Please leave your dogs at home!

Are outside food and beverages (including alcohol) allowed inside the festival grounds?

No. We have carefully selected a handful of outstanding local food and beverage providers for you to choose from. Prices will be reasonable and we encourage you to try these culinary offerings, ranging from traditional Mexican dishes to juicy handmade burgers, as part of the festival experience. There will be plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well.

Got it. And how do I purchase food and beverages once I'm inside?

General Admission ticketholders can purchase food and drinks from our food-truck style vendors, who will accept cash or major credit card. VIP ticketholders can purchase food from Frente al Punto’s restaurant and bar or from the food-truck style vendors as they wish.

Nice! What about merch? How can I buy that?

Our merch table will accept cash and all major credit cards. There will be both festival and band merch available and we encourage you to support us and the artists in this way.

Will you employ safety and security personnel during the festival?

Absolutely. A full security staff will be monitoring the festival grounds, both inside and out, constantly to ensure everyone’s safety and address any incidents. There will be a licensed health professional and first-aid booth on site and an ambulance parked outside, just in case there is an injury or serious illness. Please help us by acting responsibly to ensure everyone’s well-being throughout the weekend!

Is this festival going to destroy the town and cause irreparable harm to the local environment?

Absolutely not. We are working closely in conjunction with the long-time Sayulita residents who care about the environment to ensure sustainable practices. We are taking a “holistic” approach that carefully considers the pros and cons of every decision we make, from environmental, social and economic perspectives. We feel this small festival will appeal to a socially and environmentally conscious niche of music lovers who support the arts and progressive grassroots initiatives, in Mexico and beyond, bolstering the town’s reputation and cultural significance.

Can I record videos and take pictures of the performances?

Yes, as long as you keep these images for your personal (i.e. non-commercial) use. We encourage you to share your clips and pics on your social media profiles using the hashtag #SANDANDSTRINGSFEST to let all of your friends and followers know what an awesome time you’re having!

Is there camping available at Sand & Strings Music Festival?

There is a campground located right next to the festival grounds. However, we have no association with them and can’t comment on the quality of those accommodations. There is no camping allowed within the festival grounds nor on the beach.

Is re-entry to the festival allowed? If I decide to leave the festival grounds to go take a dip in the water or walk along the beach, can I get back in, no problem?

Yes. All attendees will receive an official festival wristband that will allow their re-entry to the festival grounds on the respective day. These wristbands are different colors, depending on whether you purchase a 1-day or 2-day ticket. All of these will be made crystal clear in the email you receive upon purchasing your tickets.

Are you still accepting artist submissions for this year’s festival?

The line up has been a work in progress for many months and is basically set in stone. However, there is always next year, and we welcome submissions at any time by email at sandandstringsfest@gmail.com
