Formados en los sistemas de metro de Oakland, la banda retro-soul The California Honeydrops es un grupo electrizante que desaf\u00eda las convenciones en cada paso. Se han convertido en un pilar de festivales como el Byron Bay Bluesfest (Australia), Outside Lands, Monterey Jazz, Lightning In A Bottle, y han girado con leyendas como B.B. King, Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy y Allen Toussaint. \nJuan G\u00f3mez, as\u00ed es su nombre real, es un artista hecho as\u00ed mismo de una manera artesanal, sin prisa, pero sin pausa, dejando reposar su carrera como se hace con los buenos vinos.<\/p>\n

Puede presumir de ser uno de los artistas m\u00e1s laureados del territorio espa\u00f1ol, alcanzando un gran reconocimiento no solo en su pa\u00eds si no en m\u00faltiples territorios latinoamericanos. Muestra de ello fue la invitaci\u00f3n en 2019 por parte de la alcald\u00eda de Bogot\u00e1 para celebrar el cumplea\u00f1os de la ciudad colombiana con dos conciertos consecutivo en el Auditorio Le\u00f3n de Greiff de la Universidad Nacional junto a la Filar- m\u00f3nica Juvenil de Bogot\u00e1 ante m\u00e1s de 3.000 personas cada d\u00eda o su exitosa participaci\u00f3n en el Rock al Parque en la pasada edici\u00f3n del 2023.<\/p>\n

En su haber tiene cinco discos: Lo mal que estoy y lo poco que me quejo – 2012, El d\u00eda de suerte de Juan G\u00f3mez – 2014, De pana y rub\u00ed – 2015, El arte de saltar – 2018 y Cosas de los viviente – 2023 editado a trav\u00e9s de su propio sello discogr\u00e1fico \u201cA Volar Music\u201d. A destacar en su carrera fue su nombramiento como Malague\u00f1o del a\u00f1o en el \u00e1mbito de la cultura en 2023, ser el encargado de dar el Preg\u00f3n de la Feria de M\u00e1laga en 2024 o componer la canci\u00f3n original de la pel\u00edcula Cuerpo Es- combro dirigida por Curro V\u00e1zquez y protagonizada por Dani Rovira y Ernesto Sevilla entre otros. Es curioso decir que el artista es fiel a su sonido, cuando en realidad se basa en una fusi\u00f3n particular de sonidos que dan vida a canciones variopintas con una gran combinaci\u00f3n de estilos nutridos de herencias musicales, pero as\u00ed es, cuando alguien escucha una canci\u00f3n de El Kanka, sabe identificarla desde el primer acorde.<\/p>\n

Su talento y naturalidad han cautivado a cr\u00edtica y p\u00fablico all\u00e1 por donde ha pasado, es dif\u00edcil no salir con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja despu\u00e9s de haber asistido a uno de sus conciertos. El Kanka contin\u00faa derrochando optimismo en sus letras y trabajando por una m\u00fasica honesta muy enfocada a mostrar lo que siente en su interior.
